Just playing through a few stages, I noticed Captain America blowing up into circular digital bits ala Mega Man, a familiar sound and hand/feet positioning while jumping in the vein of our friend Mario, a noise that sounds an awful lot like Super Mario Bros.' coin-collection sound effect and a rather amusing way to introduce the boss battles. In anticipation of Captain America: The First Avenger arriving into theaters, Marvel commissioned Big Pixel Studios to produce a Flash-based game called Captain America: Shield of Justice that's rather blatantly (in a great way) flexing its Mega Man and Super Mario Bros. Gonna be straight with you guys: seeing this screen pop up totally made me freak out.
